The Story Behind
Venus Trine Mars
As a child, I grew up surrounded by flowers, watching my mother arrange them in the Japanese art of Ikebana. She did this even while pregnant with me, so my strong appreciation of art, design and all things in the natural world, was passed on and meant to be.
For as long as I can remember, I loved design and fashion. When I was a teenager, I saved my pocket money to buy Vogue magazine from the local newsagent and I poured over these magazines, admiring every item on each page slowly and dreaming of one day becoming a fashion designer.
However, my journey to creating Venus Trine Mars didn’t begin until decades later. In 2019, on a train trip across the European Alps, I stopped by a crystal shop in the Swiss mountain town of Wengen. There I discovered rose quartz, tourmaline and moonstone - some of my favorite crystals that are often used in my jewelry today. It was a life changing experience, and upon returning home, I began learning more about gemstones and then started training as a wax sculptor and metalsmith.
Working with my hands to showcase these beautiful stones from our natural world is something I truly enjoy. I hope you find a piece that brings you joy.
