Hello, I'm Bex, the founder and principal jeweller behind Venus Trine Mars. My studio is based in Sydney, Australia.
As a child, I grew up surrounded by flowers, watching my mother arrange them in the Japanese art of Ikebana. She did this even while pregnant with me, so my strong appreciation of art, design and all things in the natural world, was passed on and meant to be.
My jewellery journey began in 2019. On a train trip across the European Alps, I stopped by a crystal shop in this Swiss mountain town of Wengen. There I discovered rose quartz, tourmaline and moonstone - crystals I love using in my jewellery today. I was so inspired on this trip that when I returned home, I learned more about gemstones and began training as a wax sculptor and metalsmith.
I grew passionate about preserving ancient techniques of jewellery making and I believe that jewellery made in this way is truly more unique and special. Learn more about our values, process and how we differ from other jewellery brand below.
The journey of every piece of jewellery in the store starts with being meticulously hand sculpted in wax. This step is the heart of our process, allowing us to infuse every design with intention, detail and personality. Once perfected, the wax model is transformed into metal through the lost wax casting process - an alchemy of fire and precision that brings our vision to life. Each item that comes out of the kiln is custom made and will retain the beautiful and ancient looking textures from the lost wax casting process.
We work in limited small batches, which makes our business sustainable but also means that every item receives the care and attention it deserves. This approach guarantees exceptional quality but also makes every piece truly special.
