The Tibetan Om pendant was inspired by the Himalayan mountains and Tibetan culture. Upon closer inspection, you'll notice that the symbol carries such an unusual beauty, reflecting an art form in itself. 

Historically, the word "Om" in Sanskrit is the first word in the mantra of compassion in Buddhism. It's used in the practice of yoga and mediation as a general symbol of inner peace and calm. Something we hope this pendant brings to you when you wear it.

The pendant features a Sanskrit carving of the word on a solid circular pendant. The edges are intentionally carved with interesting textures and it's like you're wearing an ancient Tibetan coin. 
  • Individually hand sculpted, creating organic textures with the intentional look of an ancient coin.
  • Gold - Cast in solid recycled brass (not hollowed out) with 18K gold applied. Matte finish.
  • Silver - Cast in solid 925 sterling silver (not hollowed out). Medium shine finish.
  • Pendant measures 20 mm and weighs 7 grams.
  • Soldered closed joint necklace measuring:
  • Gold - 40 cm (15 inch) long and 1.3 mm thick.
  • Silver - 47 cm long (18.5 inch) long and 1.3 mm thick.

Lost wax sculpting is the oldest form of jewellery making that exists and is an art form that requires high levels of craftsmanship. Using soft wax, the artist sculpts each piece, giving the jewellery many unique attributes that machine made jewellery can't replicate.

Every sculpted piece is then hand cast in solid metals such as bronze, brass, silver or gold. Every piece is custom made and will retain the beautiful and organic looking textures from the lost wax casting process.

The process of lost wax sculpting is an art form in itself and has slowly become less common as machines have replaced jewellery artists. By supporting independent jewellery brands like Venus Trine Mars, you're helping to preserve an art form.
